Lay Governing Body member for governance

Are you passionate about ensuring informed decisions are made about our health and care system with accountability and probity? If you are, then come and join our Governing Body to champion good governance and its importance to our work. 

You’ll take a lead role in ensuring the Governing Body and wider CCG behaves with the utmost integrity. You’ll take a strategic and impartial view, and oversee key elements of governance including audit, managing conflicts of interest, champion whistleblowing, safeguarding, and ensuring anti-fraud systems are in place. You’ll chair the audit committee and possibly other meetings as required. 

A knowledge of financial and audit experience is essential, along with the skills and experience to provide assurance that systems of internal control and assurance are in place for all aspects of governance, including financial and risk management. You will be the point of contact when legal or independent professional advice is required.

You will also champion the needs of remote communities within Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly, and understand the local arrangements for listening and responding to the voices of people, carers and representative organisations including member practices.
